This Technical Specification: — Establishes a guideline for low consistency treatment, i.e. three to five percent, of pulp samples in laboratory refiners, which operate according to the bar-to-bar principle. — Gives guidelines for evaluating fibres for papermaking, in particular chemical market pulps, under close-to reality conditions in terms of refining intensity and specific refining energy. — Specifies terms and parameters for the simulation of industrial refining processes by laboratory refiners, optimizing fibre furnishes in terms of cost, quality, and energy requirements.
